Aida

Aida Yabut was born in the bustling city of Manhattan, New York. Her father’s Filipino heritage gifted him with musical talent that accompanied her mother’s lyrical Puerto Rican voice beautifully. Aida started singing at the age of four, and was brought up in a loving church body, which taught her about the love of God. As the years progressed, so did her passion for worship through music. She developed her skills at singing, playing the violin, piano and acting as well as directing drama and musical productions. She took her talents to Mexico on her first “Missions” trip where her life changed forever. Understanding that learning English could be a help to many in their endeavor to rise above poverty, she earned her Masters degree in teaching English. She shared her way of instructing and developed a curriculum for teaching English that is now being used in Rwanda, the Congo, other countries in Africa, and Asia. Aida’s sole focus in life has always been to use her talents to inspire others to learn, love and enter the sweet presence of God Almighty.

Mark

Mark W. Ranck was born in Williamsport, PA. He grew up with his mom and dad playing the guitar and singing country music and old gospel hymns. His talent premiered at age ten as he played the organ with his grandfather, and later in a little country church. His teen years, however, led his obsession for music onto a different road; the road of a professional musician. He perfected his skills as a composer, singer, pianist, guitarist and trumpeter while performing in various venues, but his dreams of fulfillment in musicianship left him with the reality of intense emptiness. Finally in 1992, he realized that the only way to fill the void in his soul was to accept his need for God and turn his life over to Jesus Christ. His passion for worship grew as his love for Christ deepened. In 1996 he was ushered into the world of passionate worship and has since found himself continually leading others to the throne of God—through music.

Cheri

Cheri Maeding is an award-winning artist that has made drawing an important part of her life.  Her expertise is in Portrait Painting on Porcelain; some of her paintings will be displayed as introductions to her classes.

Cheri’s talent, patience and passion for the arts are constantly being exhibited as she teaches new skills to children in elementary schools and adults in her porcelain painting classes. She considers her ability a gift from God and loves to encourage others to explore, learn, and discover how to express themselves through art. She hopes to not just take the experience of creating to a new level of understanding, but a to a level of sheer fun!

When Cheri’s son was born deaf, she found herself communicating by another medium - Sign Language. She has been teaching signing now for thirty-three years in the hearing impaired elementary schools and in the last several years, has taught sign to home-schooled students. Her goal is to help others connect with the deaf community while make signing fun and useful.

Whether teaching Art, Sign Language, or Bible stories, Cheri’s joy is in sharing her gifts with all she meets. We feel privileged to have her as one of our Worship Guild Academy’s instructors.

Alicia

The multi-award-winning artist, Alicia Manzo, learned her art skills in Sahuayo, Michoacán, Mexico. Her versatility in the mediums such as oil, water color, pastels, charcoal and pencil have won her many awards in Mexico, and though new to the United States, she has already won an award from Inglewood, CA. Alicia loves sharing her passion for the arts by not just exhibiting her work, but teaching others to bring out the artists within them.

Those who have had the pleasure in seeing her work are amazed at her ability to capture the depth and beauty of her subjects. We are very proud to have Alicia Manzo as one of our art instructors here at Worship Guild Academy of Music, Fine Arts and Languages (WGA), and will be offering some of her original paintings and drawings for purchase in our WGA website store.

Daniele

Our “crazy” Daniele Sharp has her BA in Kinesiology, which is the study of movement. Along with that she has had extensive college training in ballet, modern dance and jazz dance. Dance isn’t her only passion. Her love for children compelled her to acquire her Arizona State teaching certificate so that she could bring fun into the classroom. Daniele never stops! She has been a youth soccer and volleyball coach, and has placed in 5K and 10K races-she has even competed in a triathlon! Helping others stay physically fit has been her joy; she obtained her AFA Certificate as an Aerobic instructor and has been teaching aerobics for over twelve years. Daniele is a fun loving, caring, inspiring teacher! She’ll keep you smiling (if not laughing) as you exercise and dance your way to great health! We are truly privileged to have her as one of our staff members. You’ll love her classes!

Nancy

Nancy Ramirez is a California native and grew up near the Mission San Juan Capistrano which her Indian ancestors helped build. Being a minority in this conservative area opened her eyes to how it feels to be different. For this reason she now loves teaching English to adults from almost every continent while sharing the beauty of being different. Nancy’s students compliment her on her ability to explain grammar clearly and make them laugh while learning. They often describe her as "happy and energetic," "crazy" and "entertaining!"

Nancy holds a BA in English and a Masters in TESOL (Teaching English to Speaker’s of Other Languages.) She has been involved in initiating teacher training workshops for educators, and hopes to travel the world while training educators, and sharing the professional knowledge she has gained during the past two decades; however with a higher purpose—her passion is to give back what God has so graciously given her. We’re excited to have Nancy join our staff at WGA!
